Choc-Cardamom Cashew Milk

September 4, 2012 by Sarah 3 Comments

Oh boy, this was yummy. The kind of yummy that I just HAD to share – I took a glass in to my beautiful neighbour, and we gushed over the cardamom together.

It is dairy-free, as well as refined-sugar-free and raw! Smooth and creamy, and just amazing.

I have a very busy, trying month ahead, taking on lots of challenges at once! I am doing Sugar-Free September (which is a walk in the park as we are refined-sugar-free anyway, but it is keeping me on my toes in terms of facebook posts!), as well as The Organised Housewife’s 20 Day Challenge, AND my own personal challenge of getting on my rowing machine every day. Not to mention uni assignments, as well as the goals I am setting myself for my business. I think this drink may just help me get through the month! I can already tell, this is going to be my newest obsession.

Choc-Cardamom Cashew Milk
Ingredients:
150g raw cashews
1/4 tsp cardamom seeds
25g raw cacao powder
40g raw, unfiltered honey
10g cold-pressed coconut oil
400g filtered water
Method:
1) Place cashews, cardamom and cacao in TM bowl. Mill for 20 seconds on speed 9. Scrape down sides.
2) Add honey, coconut oil and water to TM bowl. Blend for 1 minute on speed 9.
Notes: This will serve about three two people, depending on appetite and love of cacao+cardamom.Enjoy! 🙂

Sounds yummy. Any suggestions to what you could use instead of cacao. I’m very sensitive to cacao and it gives me the jitters.

Lou, you could try carob. Alternatively, vanilla-cardamom would be yummy! Forget about the cacao entirely, and add a splash of vanilla essence or the seeds of a vanilla bean.

Kim, you are also beautiful!!! 🙂

    xoxo
